District Central Cooperative Banks

There are two District Central Cooperative Banks in Himachal Pradesh which are as under:-

 The Kangra Central Cooperative Bank Ltd. Dharamshala:

The Kangra Central Cooperative Bank Ltd. Head Office Dharamshala was registered on 17th March, 1920. At present, Bank is providing services through 183 branches in 5 districts of Himachal Pradesh namely, Kangra, Hamirpur, Una, Kullu and Lahaul & Spiti. The Bank is playing a significant role in strengthening the economy of the State besides upliftment of weaker sections. The Bank has emerged as one of the leading banks of the State today.

 The Salient Features of the Bank are :-

  1.   Cooperative Bank of Northern India.
  2.  Competitive interest rates on deposits and loans.
  3.  All deposits are insured under DICGC Scheme.
  4.  Draft facility throughout India.
  5.  Micro-level advancing to individual borrowers in agriculture, small-scale industries and service sector.
  6.  Macro-level advancing to Societies and Self-Help Groups for social development.
  7.  Financing infrastructure development of the State through HPSEB, HRTC, HPFC, HPIDB, HPSCSC etc.
  8.  Disbursing pensions to HPSEB, HRTC, Defence personnel and freedom fighters.
  9.  All borrowers extended Insurance facilities.
  10.  Fully computerised Bank head office, zonal offices and four main branches at Dharamshala, Una, Hamirpur and Kullu.

 The Jogindra Central Cooperative Bank Ltd. Solan :

The Jogindra Central Cooperative Bank is functioning in Solan District with its 22 branches and 3 extension counters. The Bank commenced its business on 18th May, 1924 and was registered on 20th August, 1924. The Bank is playing pivotal role in the economy of Solan district.The Bank has its main role in the development of Agriculture Sector. Apart from agriculture loaning, Bank has come forward for the help of industrial sector, transport, handloom, salary earners, housing, Public Distribution System, Consumer Durables and so many other activities.

 Salient Features of the Bank :-

  • Deposits are secured and covered under Deposit Insurance and Credit Gurantee Corporation.
  • High interest rates and lockers facilities available. Advances loan to PACS, farmers, salary earners, transport and industrial purpose.
  • Credit facilities under Swarn Jayanti Sawrojgar Yojna, Self-Help Group Scheme, Kisan Credit Card Scheme.
  • Deposit schemes for small savings for the customers under Dainik Dhan Sanchay Yojna and Dhan Vrishty Dainik Bachat Yojna.
  • Life Insurance Cover to customers under Jeevank Suraksha Bachat Yojna.
  • Separate Cell for Women Development.
