 H.P. State Co-operative Bank Ltd.

The Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank Ltd., The Mall, Shimla-171001 is functioning as Apex Bank through its 184 branches and 15 Extension Counters in six Districts of the State namely Shimla, Kinnaur, Mandi, Bilaspur, Chamba and Sirmour. It was registered on 21.08.1953. The Bank is functioning as a State Cooperative Bank/Apex Bank with Head Office at Shimla for whole of the State and also as Central Financing Agency in the six districts stated above. Apart from this, the Bank is extending its crdit services to people in rest of six districts through its two- affiliated District Central Cooperative Banks viz. The Kangra Central Coop. Bank at Dharamshala and the Jogindra Central Coop. Bank Ltd. at Solan. The Bank is providing short term and medium term credit facilities to farmers, individuals, professionals, and govt. employees through the network of Cooperative Societies as well as directly. The bank aims at providing credit support to all segments of population by having tie up arrangements with SC/ST Corporation, WDC and KVIB and extending credit facilities to the beneficiaries for generating self-employment.

 H.P. State Cooperative Agriculture & Rural Development Bank Ltd. Shimla :

This Bank was established in the year 1961 and registered as a ‘Cooperative Society’ under the provision of Himachal Pradesh Cooperative Societies Act 1956 under style and name as "Himachal Pradesh Central Land Mortgage Bank". The Bank is functioning through a network of 33 branches in nine Districts namely Shimla, Kinnaur, Sirmour, Solan, Bilaspur, Chamba, Mandi, Kullu and Lahaul & Spiti. At present, the Bank is providing long term loans to the agriculturists/ horticulturists/ artisans of the State for purposes like land development, irrigation, dairy and poultry development, farm mechanization(purchase of tractors) plantation of orchards, small and cottage industries, non farm sector activities, purchase of transport and passenger vehicles and for recently introduced purpose i.e, Rural Housing against the security of agricultural land.

 Objectives:

  • To redeem the land of Farmers from private money lender.
  • To save the farmers from the clutches of money lender and big land lord.
  • To promote the economic interest of Agriculturist and Horticulturist.
  • To fulfill the requirement of farmers through MT & LT loans.
